Mia is a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of experience from her career as a school counselor to her passion for yoga and mindfulness. Her dedication to enhancing social-emotional learning through these practices is deeply rooted in her extensive qualifications. Mia holds certifications as a K-12 school counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) credential, a 200-hour registered yoga teacher, and a certified SEL facilitator. She has also completed training in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Trauma-Informed Yoga for Youth, Critical Practices in Social Justice Education, and Restorative Practices.

Mia's academic achievements include an Education Specialist Degree focusing on mental health practices in schools, a Master’s degree in school counseling, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Communication. She also earned a certificate in Multicultural Studies, underscoring her commitment to inclusive and culturally competent practices. Mia’s multifaceted expertise makes her a unique and invaluable advocate for integrating yoga and mindfulness into educational environments to support the well-being and development of all students.

Mia brings over a decade of experience in education, spanning diverse roles over 13 years. Her journey includes enriching engagements with students across different settings: from facilitating before/after school programs to supporting students with disabilities, teaching technology to elementary students, and serving as a dedicated school counselor in K-12 settings. For the past five years, she passionately contributed to the development of students' well-being and academic success at a middle school. Mia's unwavering commitment lies in fostering inclusive environments and nurturing student growth through innovative and personalized approaches.
